CBFC chairman Prasoon Joshi stated the board’s “balanced method” to certifying the movie could be clear to everybody as soon as the movie was launched.
“CBFC all the time has a tough job of discovering the suitable steadiness between viewers sensitivity and inventive expression, and we stayed true to that spirit in certifying the movie Pathaan. Certification below the proper class is necessary and the committee has ensured that due diligence is taken with regard to the movie’s age appropriateness for the related class,” he instructed ET.
As for the costume colours, the committee remained “open-minded,” he stated.
“When the movie comes out, that balanced method shall be clear to everybody. We’ve got to grasp that CBFC works in accordance with the rules of the Cinematograph Act and strives to do its greatest to certify the movies for the suitable class,” he added.
There’s all the time a stipulation for the creators to voluntarily make modifications to the movie as properly and maintain submitting an agreed model, he stated.
“Whereas the method has been correctly adopted and applied, I have to reiterate that our tradition and beliefs are superb, intricate and nuanced. We should be cautious that they don’t seem to be outlined by trifles or dragged into unjustified controversies. Belief between creators and viewers is most necessary to guard and creators ought to maintain working in the direction of it so there may be little room for misunderstanding,” Joshi stated.
